I am a Chartered Psychologist and I have worked as a peak performance coach since 2006, helping thousands of people to make more out of their work and lives. I am the author of an internationally published book, ‘Psychology of Success’ (Icon Books) and In 2009, I was a semi-finalist in the competition ‘Britain’s Next Top Coach’.
I was privileged to be part of the Workforce Training Team of the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) where I designed a major training programme on Event Leadership to prepare all managers to lead at the London 2012 Games and where I did 1:1 coaching of senior leaders. It was during this time that I first came across ‘Will it make the boat go faster?’ as this was a mantra that we used within LOCOG.
Working for over ten years in the world of peak performance has led Alison to become fascinated about the question: how can you experience well-being whilst pushing yourself hard to achieve? She has seen firsthand that people struggle to have enough hours in the day to progress exciting goals, make time for the people who matter and enough ‘you time’, whilst fitting in all those daily chores. Alison is currently doing a PhD to discover a practical solution to this widespread problem and she is already achieving some great results.
